The Swiss Kansaijin Kai will be selling onigiri, curry rice, and onigirazu at JAPAN FOOD FEST, which will be held on July 8th and 9th, 2023, and at Fest der Nationen, organized by Fachstelle Migration Zug ,which will take place on September 2nd, 2023.
The rice for the rice balls, rice sandwich and curry served at our stand is made from the delicious “Harvest Rice” from Kimoto Farm.
The Harvest Rice is grown in the mountainous region in Mie Prefecture.
Rice from mountainous regions tastes particularly good due to the large difference in temperature between day and night. A climate with good weather during the day and cool nights allows the nutrients produced during the day to be stored. They can then accumulate stably as umami ingredients. Together with the clear water of the streams, this makes for delicious rice.
